The movable blade on the rear sight of my Series-70 Gold Cup has a little fore-and-aft slop in it. Ie: no side to side movement, but it can be wiggled front to back. Is this normal, and if not is there a fix? I suspect there is some sort of tiny spring inside there that has given up the ghost. If so, is there anyone here who works on them? Does Colt still take on repairs of that nature?

I could fashion a tiny little wedge to make it sit still but would prefer to fix it correctly.

You have to dig around, but I think you can still find parts for them.
Maybe Williams or another company offered replacement ones and they should still be available through Brownell's.

Yeah, that'll be my last resort. I would really like to keep the gun original.

My series 70 has the same play been shooting it since 75 still good to go.
