Anyone got first-hand info on the defunct Kimber BP Ten II double-stacked polymer-framed 1911?
Just got one from a trade & wondering, among other things, if the slide is compatible with generic 1911s.
Mags also seem to be finicky though a lot of options out there.
TIA

My father traded into a lightly used one in 2006 or '07. I believe kimber axed it shortly after. If I remember correctly, the frame was imported and they installed the slide. Magazines were 3rd party as well I think.

A friend of his wanted it bad, and the kimber got traded for some Mopar parts. I only shot it a few times...seemed finicky to me. The squared off grip did not fit me very well either.

I saw a Charles daly 10 that I assume is the frame that kimber used to import/assemble. Guy was using it as a bowling pin gun. So parts and magazines shouldn't be too hard to come by.

Sorry, no idea on whether the slide is interchangeable with a standard 1911.

Update on my new-to-me Kimber BP Ten II.
Seems like the difference between this & standard 1911 slides is a detent slot matching the detent on frame that goes up/down slowly when the grip safety is pressed. Similar to a swing up/down lever of a series 80.
Will test fit my other 70 series slides (SA, STI, RIA) & 80 series (Para, Sig).
I'll post results soon.
