I drive a Dodge mini van for work, it's a company owned vehicle. At low rpms when it's in too high of a gear it makes a loud, annoying drone. It has a stock exhaust system. Just wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of the drone sound. It does it all the time like in slow and go traffic. It shifts up in to higher gears and to stay with traffic I'll use a little gas to keep it moving with the other cars. Then it gets to droning at about 1400 rpms, seems like all i can do is manually shift it to a lower gear. It's a PIA to drive it that way.
I downloaded a app that shows sound waves and amplitude. The yellow line is normal acceleration and the white line is the drone. I wonder if the issue is the lack of sound on the upper end of the spectrum that makes it so bad? It's easy to get along with over 1500 rpms.
