I've used a MagnoSpeed Sporter with cast bullets though, not extensively. Never notice any lube build up so far. Shouldn't be too hard to keep it clean I suppose. I know several here and on CBA forum that have used one extensively with cast bullets and they've not mentioned any problems.

Lube doesn't hurt it, it works with 2 magnets and 2 magnetic sensor s in the blade. Set sensitivity 5 and make sure it is 1/2" below bore and properly spaced from the muzzle. Works on PB as well.

asking because of the lube going on it and rending it useless Absolutely ,every week and to make matters worse it"s most often with conical 4-500 grain boolits on top of 40 to 120 grains of 1 1/2-2 and 3F black powder and patched round balls. FPS is important when workin up loads as a lot of trajectory is easier to understand if you know the speed your cast is going . The only difficulty is the mess BP makes on the bayonet (Bring water/paper towels) to keep from fouling out but lube is never a problem BP or smokeless !/Ed
