Father, Charlie is a faithful follower of Yours. You know that he is having surgery on Tuesday and I am praying for comfort and healing for him. Father, I know Charlie and I know that he is not worrying about the surgery because his faith is in You, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit but I would ask that You guide the physicians and medical team that do his surgery and restore his shoulder so that he may have a pain free life. AMEN

You know you got it brother! Amazing how I got up this morn with a strong feeling that a friend needed prayer, just didn't know who yet. Lord please grant Charlie relief from pain and guide his physicians. GW

Prayers for you Charlie, swift and complete recovery. I have one question though; what the dickens is a "reverse shoulder surgery". I was an Anesthesiologist for over 40 years and I don't recall that surgery. I'll guess it's a surgery to reverse a previous shoulder repair. At any rate, comply with the post surgery physical therapy treatments (torture) and you will be fine. Had a complete shoulder restoration about 10 years ago so I know what you will be going through. Again Praying for you Charlie.

The surgeon reverses the ball and socket putting the socket on the end of your arm bone (humerus) if the joint is too deteriorated . Therefore reversing the joint itself . This is a pretty good video showing how it's done except the guy does too much talking .

I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers . Heck we all need prayer .
Been mowing , shampooing carpets , grocery shopping , getting the dogs their shots , cooking food and putting it up in the freezer with the food saver . Trying to get all the 'two' handed jobs out of the way that I can . lol , my doctor said I couldn't drive till I get my 'immobilizer' off . But they told me the same thing with an ankle fusion and knee replacement .

Thank you again for your prayers

I sure hope this doesn't slow down your typing. :bigsmyl2: It would be a shame for the Tales of the Black Mule Ranch to be put on hold.

Fantastic video Charlie; the advances in surgical techniques is awesome. The catheter placed in the Brachial Plexus REALLY WORKS as well as a Polar Pack for a few days post surgery. Again Prayers for you and I know you'll fare well.

I would have posted earlier but could not get to the site.....couldn't get to load! I spoke with Charlie about 12:30 p.m. after the therapist tried to kill Charlie but he persevered......he stated that his pain level was about a 10 but it is just over one day since his surgery and about 20 minutes after his therapy....he really wants to go home but that was nixed.....his spirit is good but I told him that he would probably be in until Friday....will keep ya posted......

Pine baron I amen that follow the doctors orders.

Boaz

Ya'll that know me always come down on me about following doctors orders . It's kind of like you think I'm hard headed or something , lol . I'm not supposed to do anything with the arm except a few passive exercises from the elbow down . They had to cut some tendons and I'm not to do anything with the upper arm . If I bust those stitchs loose on the tendon they reopen it and it takes longer to heal . I don't need that . I have to wear an immobilizer so I can't use the arm , it drives me crazy and chews on my neck ...don't like it but I'm using it .

I start therapy next Monday morning . I'm looking forward to it . I have a lot of good friends here , I thank all that have called or messaged me . You'll never know how much I thank you .

Years ago I had calcium buildup in my heel that got into the Achilles tendon. Very painful to walk. The solution was for the MD to go in, scrape the calcium out of the tendon, disconnecting it from my heel to do this, insert a bronze pin in my heel bone and attach the tendon to that. Six weeks off the foot for this to heal. Very strict instructions from the MD - same as yours - don't even think about putting stress on that repair for six weeks.

He was strong enough that he scared me - and I did it. Hated the crutches, having to take a bath with my leg hanging off the side of the bathtub, etc., but I did it. Since then I'm glad I did.

I feel for you, brother.

Follow up . Went for my two week post operative appointment this morning . Surgeon said only about 5% of patients recover as quickly as I have . I was suppose to keep wearing my 'immobilizer' on my arm for another 6 weeks . But he told me to leave it off and just keep up whatever I was doing .

.................................................. ................Consider prayer......................It works ! Thank all of you again !
