I recently picked a bucket of misc. lead. in it were 2 bars that say 50/50 solder. How do I use it?
If you melt a pound of 50/50 solder and 9 pounds of wheel weights, it's allegedly the same as Lyman #2 lead. A very good mix for slow shooting under 1,000 fps.

I use pure ww over 2000 without leading usually with gc but not always. When water dropped they come out 25 to 27 bnh. I never used tin until a kind member sent me some to try and it really did seem to help.

That's good stuff, and valuable too.
I sparingly alloy it in with pure lead and/or wheel weights until it casts 'just right' for slow moving .38s & .45s.
For them, I'm more concerned with high speed production, mold fill out, and low reject rates than I am hardness.
Or use a bit more of it to make a harder blend for .30 cal. faster stuff.
