I was looking through my lever guns because I remembered that I failed to clean one but couldn't remember which. I did not realize I had this many.

I was at 12 plus
Down to 4
Probably will get another 45/70 and call it a day on lever actions
Unless and until ARs are verboten
Then more lever actions, especially the detachable box magazine Henrys

Found 2 more in the project box for refinishing: Marlin 336's 30-30 saddle ring and 35 Rem I had cut to 16 1/4.

I surely am impressed! Quite the gorgeous collection -- I have a couple "wallhangers" and shooters -- including my favorite carry lever -- the 336 Marlin in .30-30 WCF. Years back I had a Savage 99, but that got traded for a 20-gauge scattergun.

I'm headed the other way, I'm down to 28 classic CF rifles in deer calibers. and another dozen that were made post WW2. I was down to about 35 but when I try to get out I get drug back in. My high point was 385 counting 22s, CFs, shotguns and handguns. Now down over 10yrs to about 1/3 of that.

I have alot also. They're like potato chips. If you know how many you got, you ain't got enough!

Mine are more odd calibers since they are all originals. I dont have any .32WS but I do have a .32 Remington if it counts.

I haven't looked hard lately, and can't quite remember. But I know there are 7 .44's (3 .44Mags, 4 .44WCF's) because I just went through the safes looking for One in Particular. Didn't pay attention to what I wasn't looking, which was a .44Mag. And you know the one your looking for is the last one you find.

I gave up looking for a 25/20 I could afford and sold all of my brass, had been keeping brass for 25 years or so.

I only have 3 levers, Marlin 357 with the brass trigger and no safety (1895C), Marlin 41 mag (1894CL) and a Winchester 94 30/30 from the 70's or early 80's. Love them all.

How about a Ruger model 96 ?

I just picked up a Winchester 94 in 30-30
that needs a lot of attention.

Last count before my tragic boating accident... I owned seven 45/70 levers alone...

Whats the line from that movie... “Those are rookie numbers”.

I say simply its a good start!! :)

Funny thing, never really thought about either the Spencer or even the Peabody as a lever gun.Mine is in 56-50 and bought it with the thought of converting it to centerfire. Ten years later still a rimfire. Frank

They turn up here in Australia reasonably frequently , mostly button or half length magazines . Prices range from 400-1200 AU depending on condition .Just saw a 94 in 32-40 for 600 ,but my finances are now limited also ,and my 40gun safe is full .

Only two. I shoot them a lot. 30-30 Marlin and 38-55 Winchester. I would love a .41 magnum Marlin cowboy like they made for a bit. A 25-35 would be welcome as well.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190626/d002a054373beea70a12b4e159fdbc79.jpg

I'd like to find a Marlin 1888 that won't break the bank, but I think they are rare. This was the second model put out by Marlin (not counting the different types of M1881) and the last to have top ejection. I believe after just one year it was superceded by the 1889 side eject model.

How many here tend to accumulate levers in one caliber? I'm at five in .30 WCF. I have a single example each of .308 WCF, .357 Magnum, and .22 LR. Would like to add a .45-70 and .38-55 also.

I think my overall favorite is the New Henry Original in 45 LC not a thumper just an absolute blast to shoot over and over and over....nice looking holds offhand extremely well and just has that lever gun nostalgia. The wood beautiful and the action is slick.

Laugh as you may then the Mossberg tactical 30-30 it is what a utility gun should be.

So I have 12 leverguns right now running from 22 mag to 375GNR #2.

Started counting, got to 70 lever guns and quit, mostly Savage 99's and Marlins, some Brownings, Winchester's and Henry's, a Rossi .357, of course there are others, AR's, bolt-guns and single shots. Lotsa duplicates, 3 284's, 8 or 10 300's, same for 303's, 5(?) 30-30's, maybe a dozen 308's, a couple .348's, someday I'll thin the herd(when I can't walk my 200 yard range?) but it seems I'm still buying. A Henry 6.5 Creedmoor is on the short list. Then there's the handguns.....

The odd one out for me right now is the 308 MX. Am trying to find it's finer points and having a difficulty. Beautiful rifle, a bit more than my 30-30 and less than the '06. Was an impulse trade/buy for a ppk/s I had and didn't shoot. Anyone shoot the Ranch Dog 165 out of a 308mx?
