My old Walker is a Uberti, has .455" chambers and about a three foot twist.
Many years back used the RCBS 45-225-CAV mold that looks like a cross between a wadcutter and a stubby maxiball.
I'm thinking maybe with that slow a twist that a stubby minie might work. Maybe the old Lyman 454613 with those big lube grooves and the hollow base to stabilize in a slower twist could do OK. #45266 SWCBB worked really well in a Uberti Dragoon, don't recall off hand for the Walker. For the molds that will drop big enough in diameter with really soft metal, perhaps there are others that would work well in the beast from '47.
Have any you fellas used maybe 454190 or some other SWC's or maybe .45 hardball molds to get close to the military boolits for length and weight?
