This is group buy for a 9mm bullet that should be a winner. This one should be pretty versatile since it will drop at .359", have the GC option, come with a large HP and a penta HP as well as a solid pin, in 2 and 4 cavity brass blocks and in the plain base should be available in the 6 cavity brass and 8 cavity aluminum molds for the PC crowd.

As usual we need you to tell us which type/cavity mold you would like and your disguised email address in this format please:

bigtimeshooter AT nomail DOT com

Be patient and prepared to wait, Prices will be set by Miha when he is ready.

What does this drop as a solid?

I think mine are dropping @ 155 with the 359-147 Z GC (previous run) or was supposed to when I picked it up used.

The HP with COWW and 2% is running 146.5-148 checked and lubed. The next time I cast I can set it up as a solid and drop some to check since this will probably be up awhile.

that way all I have to do is cut and paste it. Try not to get too fancy as English is not Mihas first language.

I don't know why the slow turnout. I am excited about this mold for a number of reasons. The GC will let me run this bullet out of my 10" 358 GNR probably close to 1900 fps which will spell catastrophe for whatever it lands on. Have you seen the crazy low AR prices on Palmetto State Armory? If not don't look because you will get hooked. I built myself a way keen 9mm AR Pistol that uses the Colt mags and with my suppressor I can probably shoot it indoors and not find myself and my wife bleeding out of my ears and nose from the concussion a 5.56 or 300 BO might put out. I have also always wanted a Single Six in 38 Super. This would be the optimum cast performer for that package IMO. Just lots of reasons I am excited about it. If you can think of a good one list it so we can get the guys off the fence and on the list!

Might be very interesting in the KAK 9x39 AR15 it would be totally explosive on varmints at supersonic speeds.

Can anyone explain the differences (pros/cons) of this design vs the 147 RCBS clone?? I would be interested in a design that may be more forgiving in the throat (or lack thereof) area. Which would work better?

This one has a gas check. That makes quite a bit of difference.

2 Questions,
1. How would you handle payment if a buyer doesn't do Pay Pal ?
2.Since the HP options are the same as Mehic's 125 gn .359 bullet, has anyone tested the expatiation** of either bullet cast from a "standard" pistol bullet alloy. Say COWW + 1 or 2 % Sn out of a 9MM pistol ??

Sir, I don't handle payment. You receive an email invoice from Miha and you pay that. Most people who don't do pay pal simply ask someone with an account to pay the invoice from what I have seen. You would have to PM Miha yourself to see if he takes another form of payment. Keep in mind, he does take some time to get back to you.

I have not tested this particular bullet, I don't have one yet. I can say I shoot a 135 grain GCHP 32 caliber 313640 bullet at over 1500 fps at 10 BHN out of my 32-20 and it is brutal on Jackrabbits. It pretty much knocks all the chest cavity loose and wants to take a leg off on the way out. I am thinking this one should be at least as good out of a long cylinder 357 Mag or my 356 GNR. Not sure how it will act at sub sonic speed out of my 9mm AR15. But I am sure I am going to find out.

Wow....I have not looked at the Group Buy Discussion in a while, but was about to start a thread about this style of bullet. With the popularity of Suppressors, the 147gr in a 9mm is a great weight. Love this design. I am actually hoping that this could be done with a No Lube Groove version. This would actually add approximately 3gr to 5gr more weight to the bullet which might be even more beneficial for a subsonic load. I guess the .359 will size down to where it need to be. Maybe a .357 option for the Powder Coat???

I want

4 cavity brass .359 HP (all pins), PB .359 maybe 2 depending on price and configurations.

I agree that this 9mm/147/GC option should be far more popular than it is. If we can drum up enough interest I am sure Miha will make up all sorts of molds for us.

32 responses to this thread. We are at 12 molds. The significant difference with this 9mm 147 percent is the gas check option. This mold is far more versatile than all the others that are based on a plain base. If you have the need to push a 35 caliber to magnum or Carbine velocity this is your best trick.

I'm interested in one, or maybe more than one, of these. My question being about gas checks and use in 9mm and .38/.357. You couldn't use this boolit for both with the gas check installed, right? I guess it would make sense to use the GC for .356/9mm and then no GC for .357 mag as cast .358? Or could you still put the larger GC on?

You could use it for both with the checks. But You’d almost NEED one for 357 and not really need one for 9. But if both guns took the same diameter boolit, I’d have no problem just checking them all and using them in both
