S&S: no deal...What's the deal?

Posted in a WTS add for Glock 21 mags over a week ago.
Poster said they are sold.
Add was moved and locked.
Tried 3x's to contact the seller by IM as well as in other threads they started( no trying to hi-jack it) and to no avail silence.
So I IM'd the mod for the sell forum who is also the mod here and still nothing.
Thought my IM was not working but got a few from a post I started.
Granted, I may be somewhat new here but I'm a member of at least 30 other boards and most for over 10yrs and know how the process is done.
Would like and answer either way so I don't look like a welsher.

This happens more than people think. There could be many reasons why you did not get the item: You were the first one who posted “I’ll take it” but someone else could have beat you to it via PM. Even though you posted “I’ll take it” there is no “I’ll take it” rule. Something else to consider - the seller can sell to whomever they wish regardless of who responds first. Hope that answers your question.
