Went to an estate auction the other day and there were 4 boxes of round, maybe 3/8" x 12" rod which I 'assume' to be a lead alloy. Both the boxes and the rods were marked with a 30 and a 70.
I got 2 of the boxes, actually 1 full and a partial. Gave them to a another caster for what I had into it. I've already got plenty of lead.

So I guess what I'm asking is, just what is this stuff?

There were several hundred pounds of ingots and cast boolits but only 2 moulds!

Sounds like body lead from back in the day when body damage was fixed by filling / soldering with lead instead of the fiber glasses common today. It was in the rod form Ive seen round square and a little triangle shaped. Don't believe its babbit since that was in bigger ingots normally.
