Remains to be seen if it is practical but it is a pretty neat idea. Would I buy it? Probably yes ;-)

I know someone who did that with a .410 shell with the shot poured out. Did it in the basement. Left about 6 inches of arrow and fletching sticking out of the concrete block wall.

Some of the bigger bore air guns have been playing with the same basic idea.
One of them the barrel is small, arrow shaft is large, slides over the barrel.
Good accuracy and speed. Not sure just where that sort of thing would be legal.

Probably ok on Feral pigs, they seem to throw out most of the rulebook for them.

Used to be an old trick to beat the law in archery season with a 410 as mentioned. Highly frowned on by the game wardens. Otherwise one wonders WHY?

Sounds like just the ticket for someone like me with two torn rotor cuff who wants to bow hunt.

its sort of on the shady side of legal. Because of that blank cartridge, it can be considered a fire arm.

The ONLY reason the Benjamin air gun is legal is because it uses compressed air to throw bullets or an arrow.

An interesting option for sure.

Interesting for sure. I wonder if they are using the blanks that I use in my power fastener? The blanks for that tool come in differant power levels. I believe they are 22 blanks but never tried any in a real gun.

That is pretty neat. Since it is a single shot 22 then it is a firearm. But swap barrels out and you have a arrow launcher, which is sort of like a crossbow. It may be legal in some states for archery type seasons where they allow crossbows. But in states overrun with feral pigs it is pretty much open season on pigs year round using most anything. I wonder if you can use the more powerful nail gun blanks on it or not.

It would make a good instrument to stick fish.
