I know this is a little off topic for this group, but I am trying to identify and learn more about a firearm that belonged to a friends father. I am certain that this was made in the last 50 years, but was probably acquired 20-30 years ago. I know that Cabela's (https://www.cabelas.com/product/Pedersoli-Howdah-Hunter-Ga-Pistol/740261.uts) sell one similar to it. Can anyone offer some help? Thank you! -map

Love the piece.. can I have it??

In all honesty, the markings look like a name, possibly of the owner??? Can you make out what it says?

Have you measured the bores??? 20g or 12g???? And it sure looks damacus barrel??? You might be way off on the age, but of course, hard to tell for sure...

If its only 50 years old, its probably a replica of a fine pistol from history.

Dig around the antique gun sights, and you might be able to find out what it is a replica of.

While it may be a replica, I would bet on its being an original based on the damascus barrels and the St. Etienne marking and the maker's name on the right side lock. My guess is 1840-1850 French double barrel traveler's pistol. Is it rifled or smooth bore? Proof marks and bore size (gauge) will be stamped on the bottom of the barrel underneath the stock.
