What's the options for resizing my 12ga shells back to factory specs?

Most all modern shotshell leaders resize as part of the process... do you have a shotshell press???

MEC makes a stand alone sizer for just the brass coated mild steel shell head. You can buy just the collet head to change calibers as accessories.

the presses dont always do a good job on the very base and I was having trouble reusing some rio's because of it, picked up a mec super sizer and no more problem hull bases.

I got a deal on hulls few years back when i started loading shotgun. I am still working on those so haven't had to reload. You have me wondering now will have to try reloading some and see how it goes. Just using a lee load all now so will see how it goes. i hope this is not going to be another problem for my reloading.

Look for a MEC case conditioner, it resized the head and punches out the primer.
It use's a steel resizing ring to resize the shell head.

If you are re-using the hulls in the same shotgun you may not need to resize.
Try a fired hull in the chamber...
With our basic crow load (nothing magnum) we never had to "resize beyond" what our Lee 12 Loader took care of. This is using a Fox B and a Mossy mostly. But we do segregate our brass to the shotgun.

Pretty well covered above. The two ways I know of sizing shotgun brass are either some sort of push in, push out sizing ring, Lee, Mec, PW Hornady etc. or the collet style like the Mec Super Sizer. The Super Sizer is a great tool. Gp

Got it figured, I went back to the old kur plunk test. I pulled the barrel out and started adjusting the crimp ring down until a case would fit. Boy it's a lot of strain on the loader. I think I'll watch the gun shows for a super sizer.

You need a Lachmiller sizer /deprimer. You see them on Ebay frequently and RCBS bought the design and produced one nearly identical to the original.

Here's a pic of the one I refurbished. They are the fastest way to break down shotshells there ever was.

Keep your eyes peeled for a Mec sizemaster, has the super sizer as a part of the press. Doesn't require a separate step when loading.

I saw a Sizemaster in a lgs yesterday, but $250 was a little steep for me.

The Lachmiller sizer/deprimer Randy has shown is a nice tool, I have one. Be careful and look these over. I've seen lots of these for sale on Ebay that are missing the sizing collet. If you're looking for the most economical sizing tool, it would be hard to beat the Lee sizing ring. These can be had for around $4 and work well with my arbor press. Gp

I use a very fast Ponsness Warren 950 Elite, but just realized that one of my shotguns won't eject empties because the press just doesn't size the last 1/8" of the brass down by the rim. I was going to spend $200 on a Mec Super sizer when I discovered that my existing Mec 600 JR. can be adjusted right down to sizing down to the rim. My P-W runs smoother and all shells eject from pricey o/u shotgun, so save yourself some bucks. I believe that a Mec 600 may be the same cost as the super sizer and the Mec 600 will deprime at the same time.

Yes, bottom line is, you want to deprime and size in the same step.
