Hi folks,
Looking for some info on casting for .404 Jeffery.
Would you gas check?
Who makes a good mould? CBE or someone else?
Anyone got any good loads?
Thanks in advance,
Scrummy

Definitely get a GC mould. Accurate molds makes an excellent one specific to the 404 Jeffrey....... 42-375J.

If you are going to shoot it fullbore (2600 fps) then a GC may be needed. I would order a plainbase and powder coat it get a push through sizing die made and call it a day. I have driven PB powder coated boolits in excess of 2800fps.

I have had some success driving PC cast to 2000fps, within the range of the 404J. For cheaper bullets to feed mine I decide to size down 300gr 44mag to 0.423 for practice loads though. I don't shoot mine that much but before my last trip to Africa fired more than 300rds in load dev & practice.

Fred, sorry for the slow response. How many stages did it take to resize?
