In the "75,000 rounds in a M-27" thread, It was emphasized that with WCs one should ideally use WC cases because they had a longer straight section that would help minimize any tendency for the deep seating of the WC to either bulge the case or have the base of the bullet damaged by the internal taper of the case.

So my question, given the extra length of the 357 case would that pretty much accomplish the same thing? I have a plethora of 357 cases (I have several thousand 38 SPEC WW WC cases also but would prefer using the designated caliber case if possible) and was thinking if they accomplished the same thing, in regard to bullet seating issue, why not use them.

Depends upon the make of .357 case. If you have a tubing micrometer (ball mic) it's easy enough to spot-check a handful and see if the mouth wall thickness exceeds 0.010" at a depth of about 1/2" below the case mouth. If not, you are good to go.

I load 5 grains of Bullseye with Saeco #348 seated to crimp groove in .357 brass, velocity approximates .38 Special +P+ about 950 fps. Very accurate and good field load.

For a lighter target load use 3.5-4 grains in .357 brass.
