Friend came by today.
Told me he went to the doctor, and is going blind.
He said he was having problems with his peripheral vision.
He kept on scraping the right side of his car.
He went to a new doctor.
Don't know why he changed, but it was a good thing he did.
Doctor told him his other doctor should have caught it a long, long, time ago.
It's to late to do anything about it now.
He's been going to the same doctor for over 20 years, once a year for check up.
So much for that doctor taking care of him.
One eye is almost dead. Other has almost no peripheral vision.
He's a hunter.
He said he noticed he couldn't see birds flushing, until they were to far away.
That and smashing his car on the right side all the time.
Not sure what he's going to do.
Kids are useless, wife deserted the family long time ago.
Sad

I'm very sorry to hear of your friend's situation. It is sad that these things happen. He's in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he has other friends and family who can help him.

There should be a Society for the Blind active on the Island. They are his route into all the training and resources he will need to function blind. He needs to look them up while he still can, or somebody needs to do this for him.

We do have a couple of groups that help the sight impaired.
I have another friend who is 90% blind.
Next time I see him, he's in a care home now, I'll ask him to give me the one he belongs to.
