9.5 x 17??????

A guy at work brought me a plastic bag of what he called 38 ammo and left them in my truck. I got home and most of them are marked C L 9.5x17, and they are blanks. Just a wad over the powder. I dont have a clue what shoots em but I have 300 to 400 of them if anybody wants em. They are all nickel brass. What the heck??

I havent fooled with pistols much for years till the last 2 o3 years and this is a new one to me. If anyone wants this stuff or can use it pm me and I'll send it to you. I dont need it and its just in the way.

Hi, swamprat1052, 9.5x17 sure sounds strange to me, too.

I wonder if they are for a concrete stud driver gun? Those usually use oddball calibers so they won't accidentally fit in a firearm. What I am familiar with are .27 caliber rim-fires that have a fold-crimped nose.

These arent crimped like concrete drivers. just enough crimp to hold the wad in. Look like regular pistol brass.

Are they rimmed? If so they sound like 38 S&W blanks. I think "CL" is a Canadian Headstamp.

How about starter pistol blanks. I hear that these are either .32 S&W or
.38 S&W.
