I got this a while ago and finally tested the barrels over the weekend. P.Powell & Son 16ga double with London fine twist barrels. According to the proof marks, its made somewhere around 1871 to 1892. I'd imagine its the earlier years as most companies would be switching over to cartridge by the 1880s.

Not a bad looking shotgun though! Most I have gotten in the past are really missing the forestock and have soft wood. Solid wood and everything works. Luckily someone before me was using it and had new nipples installed. One less thing for me to do.

Nice looking old shotgun. If memory serves me correct, I believe I have a P. Powell in my collection.
