new to me revolver.so far just shot .330 roundball in reformed 32-20 cases.ive been able to load it with a cadet die set.i loaded it with 2.5g of bullseye and also a case full of Alliant black mz.
the BE load low pressure and sooted the cases up but the MZ load sealed well.
it shot 8" low at 10 yards ( as expected ) with bullseye and 4" low with the black powder sub.
any experienced shooters of these oddball revolvers with advice?

groups is with the Bullseye at 10 yards offhand(10 shots)

pic with revolver is black mz at 6 yards offhand.(6 shots)

That looks promising. Is the front sight blade pinned? Although normal bullets will probably strike higher- doesn't Fiocchi make ammunition for this?

yes pinned but the ramp would still be too tall still to bring it up.but....i shot the Ideal 32359 today with 2.5 of bullseye and its "on" at 15 yards..woo hoo.The bullet is small at .325 but 30 shots showed not much leading so I've got a load.
yes,you can get factory loads but shortened 32-20
cases work nicely.the forcing cone is a real "cone"
and nearly. 350 but for a gun this old I can't complain.

I examined one at a gun show a year or two ago and the quality was first rate on that revolver. I also admire the 1873 French revolvers. I'm glad that you have it lined out!

HARRYMPOPE,
Back about 91 or 92 got a mold from LBT. It put a 8mm rifle on my wish list.

Now I know it's never going to happen wouldn't a 1892 lever action just be the cat's meow!

I dropped a load down to 2 grains of Bullseye and the ideal 32359. Even though the bullet is under sized it hits point of aim at 7 yards in reasonably decent groups.

I'd try casting the boolit real soft to see if it might slug closer to bore diameter. GF

I cast some in 20-1 but they measure .323 now.not sure if the 2g bullseye load will.bump them up that much.
