I shot these a while back and never got around to posting them. The rifle is a 1886 45/70 TD with a Marbles tang sight and Lyman globe front sight. Five shot groups from 100 yds with sandbag rest. My backyard range.

First load is Ranch Dog 425 bullet. The bullets are loaded and shot as dropped from mold, powder is IMR 4895 31.5 grns, WLR primer

I have a Lee bullet sizer in .457 and about to start on sizing bullets and opening the die up as I go along.
A year or so ago Ranch Dog sent me a sample pack of bullets that were sized,gc to .460. My rifle shot these bullets into a small group and I could not find the target to post pics. However the RD bullet sized to 460 seems to be the boolit my shooter likes.

The rifle seems to like them just the size they are; BTW what size are they dropped from the mold?

Is the TD an original, I assume it is and it is good shooting for an ol'timer.

I almost got one in a Browning years ago. It was just sitting on a rack. Nice long barrel, case hardened reciever, I wanted it.
My ex-wife to be cut a lot of things short.
Good looking pattern!
