Congratulations on the bird!

I'm new to Turkey hunting. For most of my adult life my work schedule did not allow for me to be off in the Spring. Because of this I'm just now getting into fishing too! I'm a little handicapped hunting Turkeys because I'm not able to go to them when I hear a gobble. I'm just now getting back from deer camp after being down there for a couple of weeks.

Nice! I have never turkey hunted and have always meant to eventually take it up. We sure do have a lot of them around here.

Congrats on a nice tom. I learn something new every time I go turkey hunting. No outing is ever the same.

I’ve usually gotten at least one by now but prep for my daughter’s wedding is consuming my hunting time. My Blue Heeler Floyd almost caught a hen this morning but luckily she was able to take flight as I was shouting at him. I love spring turkey hunting. Congrats on yours LUCKYDAWG13- that’s a Boss Gobbler! I’ve killed exactly 0 triple beards out of 100 + turkeys since I first hunted them in 1980.

Lol! My blue heeler pup Lilly almost snagged a hen last year as about a dozen puttered across our property. Hoping to get out there next weekend to try for a gobbler. We went out a month ago and it was thick with turkeys.

Were overrun with em here
For some reason no one eats em in this area people consider them a pest and says they taste like pinecone. Guess I need to eat a pinecone and see for myself.
Nice lookin bird

We have an average of 20-30 turkeys every day here.
They are so used to us that when they hear the back door open they start to come towards the porch for breakfast. They get so close they can get corn thrown on them.
Many of them have been coming here since they were babies, brought here by their mom for the food.
Hunting season starts May1st and we always lose a few.
No interest in hunting turkeys....they are too much like pets to us.

Went out yesterday morning. Never seen that many turkeys at my buddy's farm. 7 toms, 4 hens, and 7 jakes, all within 2 hrs. One jake came home with me. I wanted my hunt to be quick and short. Got too many other things to take care of.

I bagged my Tom this morning. I've been seeing a double bearded one before season and really wanted him but this nice one came in after a long call. Crossbow at 20 yards, he ran ten yards and expired. Tucker and I had turkey for dinner.240320

Front feeder 10 sxs. I got a 20 Stevens with full choke that would destroy a turkey at 50 Yard's . It's just time for something different I guess
