For me, it’s primer tube filling. Someday I’ll design and build a filler that works. But until then, I made a huge improvement to my system by grinding out the tip of the Hornady filler tube tips so they don’t require as much effort to push down on the primer. Wow, why didn’t I do that earlier. Hugely better and faster.

Mine is cleaning primer pockets so I don't. I uniform rifle primer pockets but after that one time job I don't clean them again. Pistol primer pockets I don't fuss with at all.

Fussing with the old Lyman 450 lube sizer that leaks out the bottom pressure plug. Can't get the new part... been discontinued. They don't have one for the 4500 either. Guess I'll have to fine a machinist to copy mine.
Tore it down yesterday and found most of the O-rings cracked or broken, so found some at NAPA that worked. Base pressure plug still leaks using hard wax lube and have it heated to 110°F.
Any suggestions?

That's an easy one.... Picking up brass off the floor at the range !

When you get old , fat and have a bad back and no good pain killers ...stooping over and picking up a bunch of little stuff (or big stuff) just about kills me !
I don't pick up penny's anymore...gotta be a at least a nickle . I can buy once fired 9mm Luger from the local range at such a cheap price I won't put myself through the misery of picking the stuff up off the floor.
I mostly shoot revolvers now...even bought a 45 acp revolver ... I can't leave 45 acp brass on the floor...just can't do it !

Everything else I enjoy doing , little tedious jobs , I use as a sort of therapy... I enjoy all the little steps .

My sentiments also. Flash hole uniforming is tedious, but have seen it's benefits in rifle shooting. I will keep crimped primer brass off to the side until there is no other option, but a Super swager does make short work of it. Once I get started on either activity, it is gratifying to follow through and complete a batch.

Reloading. I am well over 350-360K rds over 40y. So reloading for me is just getting it done. The primer thing is not a big deal, I fill tubes watching the news, 90sec per tube. Then reload on my 550 or 650 depending on caliber. Bullet casting is far more enjoyable way top pass time for me.

I piddle with reloading a little at a time. Every day or maybe every other, sometimes several times a day. I don't reload huge quantities so spreading it out makes it a lot of fun. If it starts getting like work, I take a break for a few hours. I enjoy reading all manner of gun stuff, so I'm just as likely to be reading about loading in my area than loading.

For me, dealing with primer pocket crimps. I've tried about every method there is. The Dillon tool works ok but I get tired of readjusting it for different headstamps. My RCBS tool works ok but is tiring. My 45º countersink works everytime without adjustment but gets tiring. Crimped primer pockets just plain suck! I just about scrap crimped brass!

I also tired of trimming brass but my Giraud trimmer takes most of the work out of trimming.

Just the other day I cut around ten grains each from some loaded 38-55 boolits so I wouldn’t have to pull them. I loaded them slightly hot so this was a way to reduce pressure. You might say I hate pulling bullets/boolits too!

One of the few who does not like to reload or cast. It is a means to an end....that being...quality but inexpensive ammunition.

I even reload 12 ga to save a $1 a box...but I can load about 20 boxes an hour so the savings are worth the time.

I do not find any of the processes and steps "fun". For me, it is like cutting grass. Some people have fun doing that but for most normal people it is a chore that needs doing. Could hire it out but too cheap to do that.

I read about folks who weigh every powder charge for pistol rounds and wonder...

But if I had to pick one aspect of reloading, it would be prepping military brass. Overall, the worst is reclaiming and smelting alloy.

Processing rifle brass.
Can’t trim/debur in the house, too many brass shavings.
Too cold during the winter in the garage.
Boring as can be and too much like work.

Most other operations besides casting I can do in the house in cold weather.

Brass work I like to set up a table outside in nice days and enjoy the weather so it is almost fun.

But really the thing I hate is having to do something just to get ammo to shoot.
Reloading/casting/ processing when I want to is fun.
But if I am low on loaded ammo and need to do it just to be able to shoot it is rushed and feels like work.

When people ask about reloading to save money my advice is- if you want another hobby go for it.
If you just want to save money pick up a second job, you will probably come out money ahead.

I enjoy it as a hobby.

Pulling bullets suck. I do the math in my head and think, "I'm doing all this work to save a few bucks worth of powder, lead, primers, and brass. I should just pitch it in the garbage can." But I can never bring myself to do it.

But pulling bullets really isn't a part of reloading so . . .

Since the question is least enjoyable - that means I still can enjoy somethin' but just not as much as the other steps. . . I would say picking up spent brass. Shootin's all done, I just looked at my watch and I'm gonna be late for supper, and my 9mm puked empty brass all over the tall weeds. So, like an idiot, I spend way too much time trying to find a few cents worth of brass. The first 80% are found easily, I just don't know why I spend so much time trying to find that last 20%. Probably because I sickly enjoy the challenge. . . but only a little bit.
