Just bought a louverin mold and need load info. I have 2400 powder but cannot find any load info for 243 class loads. I am going to try for 1600 to 1800 fps and have 20/1 alloy and can go all the way to lino type.

My wife's Mossberg 243 absolutely loves 11.5 gr of Unique for the 88 gr Loverin cast boolits I make for an MV of about 1900 fps. If required that day, for a field varmint load good to 300 yds she also uses a 70 gr Nosler JSP-BT in front of 30.4 gr of 4895 for about 2500 fps. Both have nearly the same POA at 50 yards. No linotype required for the CB and my alloy (60% pure + 40% melted hard chilled birdshot). My Loverin single cavity mold makes beautiful boolits but it takes a lot of heating to get them that way (usually about 30 rejects cast as quickly as possible). BTW - My 6mm Rem loves that 4895 load and 100 gr. JSP as well for deer out to 200 yards but that rifle won't shoot CB's at all for some mysterious reason.

The Lyman 47th manual has some loads but not with 2400 powder

I worked on one today for my savage 99 243. RCBS 243-095 sp over 14g of Shooters World SOCOM. It gave good accuracy at about 1625 fps.

For a 243 start with either the RCBS or the 85 gr Lyman and 11 gr 2400. You should find your accuracy spot by going up in 1/2 gr increments 2-3 times. This assumes safe working gun.
