Anyone out there shooting the recent Group Buy 35 caliber 220 grain boolit in the Herrett?

I did a little work with the boolit in 14" barrel using SR4759.

Exploratory work so no Chrono data.

Accuracy was decent considering I have peep sight on that barrel (obviously Loc-Tited on since there are red stains and I can NOT budge the screws).

How about other powders?

Heat the barrel with a propane torch. The screws will come out long before the blueing will be affected. We just did that to my brothers 7-30 Waters barrel. Just heat a little and try, a little more and try....Good luck.

I tried some in my buddy's T/C. Nothing impressive at full throttle. The results can be blamed on the factory's chambering job. I figured you would need a 350 grain boolit to touch the rifling. A chamber cast showed a 0.400" long throat.

AND YET

there is NO throat, chamber ends with square the edge of rifling in 14" and 16" 45-70s and 10" 357 TC barrels.

TC Has some serious chambering issues and yet MANY of their barrels perform well on paper and in the field!

"TC Has some serious chambering issues and yet MANY of their barrels perform well on paper and in the field!"

And many of them don't. I've been on the short side of that.

Been shooting this bullet in the .350 Remington mag and the .35 Remington, and I will say that with a .348 nose and .359" body it don't shoot too well. Beagling it up to .351" and 362" and sizing it in a .360" sizer has helped a bunch.

So modified, I'm calling it useful for my purposes.

Going deer hunting with it in a few weeks.
