Well friends, its been fun. I have to go over seas for six months. I ship out tomorrow. I will miss following you all and tinkering with your experiments. Trying to recreate everyone else's success. I miss the smell of gun powder all ready. Bright side i may be home with a bit of extra change, wife is supposed to get me an old Sks, and i will be home just in time for deer season.

I may or may not have internet. Plus I dont know if what ever internet I use will let me access this site. Figured I would let you all know so you didnt worry about me. Hopfully i can squeek in one more range visit before we pull out.

This site is a whealth of information. I will miss reading the stickies and taking notes.

When nature, the wife or Uncle Sam calls we all have to answer but try to make the most of where you go and what you do...it's an adventure...right?

Whatever you do..."Watch that 6 !"

Have fun and keep the birds in the air. BIL was at Lemoore, loved it. Then they sent him to Nam. Didn't like that much.

Pick one of the member friends and send an email to be forwarded to the group just to sort of keep in touch. They can copy and paste your "post" and then do the same with some of the replies. I was not an airdale, but I was on the USS Midway a couple of life times ago. Send a PM and I will send my email and offer to serve as relay if it would help you stay in touch. Dusty

I hunted Cecil Field as a teenager. Last time I was down there (2005?) it looked to be developed. Have fun on your Med cruise. Since your E-6 you'll be herding a bunch of kids that'll be bored after a week cruise. Give them 6 months and you find out there's nothing sailor proof. I sure don't miss that. Good Luck

I was stationed at NAS Lemoore in 1966, it was a hoot!! Checked out shotguns, rifles from Special Services and got to hunt Quail and shoot at muskrats.

Thoughts and prayers for you. Did 2 Med's, an IO, one S America, several others. Nothing like the peaceful sleep you get at sea, when you are not on watch. It was a great experience which I would not trade for anything. I really liked the food when we went ashore (everywhere but North Africa)! Navy chow gets a bit boring as you probably already know.
