I was sitting here the other day and he shows up for a visit. I hadn't even thought of him for a year or few.
I almost didn't recognize him, he is no Jr anymore, that boy has done growed up.

He showed up in Fairbanks or Texas? Has he gotten his life on track?

Fairbanks. lol

He seems to have been doing alright, he came back by last week and is working at a gold mine.
He is still married to the same gal, so is doing better than a lot of kids his age, at least in some ways.

Glad to hear it. The members here did their level best to help him out. Some went way above and beyond. Glad to hear he and his wife are well.

It sounds to me like he came back with the intent to stay. He didn't waste to much time messing around, before he went to work.
I know all about the members helping him, myself included, I didn't think he was a bad kid then, but just talking with him he has grown in more ways than one.
Just guessing I would say he is in the 280-90 pound range now, and we ain't talking about any fat either. lol

Foot is fine.

That’s great! Sounds like his move south was productive then. Seemed like a hard working young man. I hope gold mining job “pans out” for him.

He and I have become friends in the real world. He has gained a lot of construction experience and training. He has also matured way beyond most guys his age.

Glad to hear that he's doing ok. He was around here when I first joined and I have wondered where he landed.

I wonder if he holds any animosity toward those whole called him out and put a stop to his nonsense with folks here. Glad to hear he has come a long way toward his journey into manhood. I can't help but think folks here played a good part in that.

We’ve stayed in touch as well. Mostly through text, call or FB messenger. He and his wife have had quite the journeybthe last few years. He did make some bad decisions and there was some heartburn for sure for a few folks. We’ve all matured and grown up at some point in our lives. I’m certainly not without fault. Glad to hear he’s doing reasonably well. Maybe he will grow some roots and settle down somewhere that’s suitable for he and his young bride.

Took me a sec when I saw the title. Yea, hope he learned something as it got a bit much.

Good for Daniel, I like to see young people grow up and do well. The last I had heard he was up on the highline working for city or county, think the inlaws were in Alaska though.

Good morning
That is great news. I have known his dad for years and it sort of hurt to see JR get bounced down some tough directions.
I guess I was fortunate the "Green Machine" took care of my rough edges.

Thread came to my attention today, so I thought I would chime in.

The move back to Alaska is planned to be permanent. I've been a member of local 302 Operatiors and engineers now for a few years, and will continue to work through them here in Alaska. This last job I have been on was actually not gold mining, but was up in the area of red dog mine. We were building a new road heading west out of Kivalina. The plan is to eventually move the village further inland, and get it out of the flood area and set it up with running water and sewer. Currently off for the break up season, will be back at it shortly.

I see mention of the foot. The one that got shot is fine. Healed up nicely.

As far as holding a grudge against any members here, I do not. I am not proud of how I handled things, and don't expect anyone here to be very forgiving. But I have no hard feeling for the very much needed kick in the butt.

Good for you Daniel..!!! So you get to work on the “Move” the village job.. the erosion has been just terrible up there for a very long while.. can’t imagine not having a good water source as they have suffered for quite a while..there are a few other villages that need to be moved in the NW of our state.. maybe this will give you some experience as a village mover.. looks good on a resume.

Mark

May the lord bless you Daniel...

I was up on that job as a heavy equipment mechanic. It was quite the experience being in that remote of a village. Quite amazing how much money those folks spend to fly in pepsi.

Yep.. and dental problems insued... lots of the villagers loose their teeth for that single reason, no good water.
