View Full Version : Another way to keep brass handy

I normally load all my firearms using same-headstamp cases, but I got tired of this with my 9mm. Seemed like every time I took 50 rounds to the range I would come back with lots more 50-150 cases, but never could find every one of the original 50 cases. So I finally gave up trying for matched headstamp sets. BUT-- I still wanted to cycle through the brass, not using the same cases every time. So, here's my new project. I took a small pet feeder and mounted a piece of 4" PVC pipe on the top. I take all that range brass, including my own empties, decap, prep for reloading (NO primers) and dump them in the top. When I want to load I just pull them out the bottom. It sits conveniently on the shelf by my reloading station and doesn't take much shelf space at all. It holds about 2500 9mm cases, and feeds nice and smooth.

Pretty slick idea!! It sure would beat a bin that is nearly empty to pick up the next piece.

Very clever and congrats! I did similar, using an inverted large clear plastic container cheese puffs came in atop a section of the plastic pipe piece made for connecting two pipe ends together, with a hole made with a drill-press mounted hole saw on its side. Mine is kind of rough -- but works; I see yours as quite the improvement!

That is really slick... I keep my commonly used brass in clear juice bottles and only load that brass until more is needed. My bulk storage is in 30/50 cal cans and the biggest plastic coffee cans I can get.
