I love this lil bugger!!

I shoot it in 30/30 and 32/20. I have a custom 32/20 with a Smel barrel so it shoots these heavy slugs very well.

I have seen that NOE offers a HP version! Has anyone hollow pointed the Lyman??

All I have is a single cav Mold but it casts well and thankfully its nit a hi volume caliber.

Here is some I cast last weekend.

Ill powder coat and GC them next time I get a chance. They are a bit harder than i prefer @ 18bhn

I have the MiHec version. I don't remember if I have the Lyman or not. But my 30-30 likes it.

I have HP'd the Lyman and it does well. Great in my M94 .30/30 and with a lot of finess, in the .30 Carbine Ruger Blackhawk./beagle

I don't have that mold currently. I used to use it with nearly full power loads of 3031 in a model 94 30-30 I had. It shot very well for me.

Beagle 333, I have looked but I can’t seem to find that mold on NOE’s website. Would you kindly tell al of us what the number is, please sir?? I just might have to have this one!

One of the most accurate boolits in the 30-30, I have the NOE version and it is a favorite of mine. 17.5 grains of 2400 or 32 grains of WW748 and crimped in the crimping groove equals excellent accuracy out to 100 yards.

Sorry!, my mistake! My first pic is from the MiHec version (also directly below). And as shown in this group buy. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?353973-CLOSED-MiHec-311440-(Hammer-o-Thor)-HP-FP-2-or-4cav-GC-PB-or-Solid-4-or-6-cav-GC-PB

The one below this is the NOE version. I'll go back up and change the other post.

Question. I bought some 311440 (Lyman's) from Western Bullet company. They do not feed well in my Mossberg 464, which is a lot like a Winchester 94 in how it functions. The bullet gets scuffed as it enters the chamber, and this is crimping it on that first groove down from the nose (which I assume is a crimp groove).

The bullet works great in my 32-20 Contender, however.

Does anybody know how the MP-Molds version works in a Win94 or in a Mossberg 464?

I don't know about the MP molds but,the NOE version of the Lyman 311440 works fine in my Win. 94 and 2 different Marlin 336s. But they only work after I size the nose down to .299. In my ww alloy the mold cast the nose at about .303. The boolit shoots very well in all of my rifles. I have not tried this boolit in my 32-20 Contender. That is something I will have to put on my to do list.

I have not tried this boolit in my 32-20 Contender. That is something I will have to put on my to do list.

15 grains of AA1680 was my max load where it was compressed. I used CCI Small Rifle Primer. Accuracy great (I have a 1:14 twist barrel). Cases looked entirely comfortable. Extraction easy. Recoil impressive for that little cartridge. Clocked right around 1400 FPS with about a 25 FPS spread over the five shots.

I haven't gel tested it yet, but I would think that this load in a contender with this cast HP actually has potential as a deer load if you live somewhere where the deer are smallish.
