Im wondering if anyone knows what the AV is for after the 358429 number? Its a HP mold for .38/357 but thats all I know so far and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The letter codes after the mould number are to identify which cherry was used to cut that mould and which maker made the cherry.

AV must be pretty common, my 452651 has the AV suffix.

(Some one may need to add to this answer)

358429 was originally designed as a solid point bullet. When Lyman (Ideal) added the hollow point the design was renumbered to 358439.

Yours may have been HP'd after it left the factory, like what Buckshot and others do.

It is a great bullet for the 38 Special and the 357 if your cylinder is long enough to accept it.

There were 2 Keith designed HP molds, the 358439 and the 358429HP. AIRC the 439 is around 10 gr lighter. Gianni
