Gas checked bullets [Archive]

I’m pretty new to casting and right now I’m casting 9mm, 38, and 45 acp.

I’d like to start loading 45 LC for rifle and I’m thinking about getting a mold for gas checked bullets.

My question is do I have to install the gas checks if I’m going to use the bullets for pistol loads or can I just load them like plain base bullets?
