Looks like cast .358 bullets might work easily for PP’ing to 9.3... (.366”). Anyone taking this easy route with any success?
Looking at possibly aquiring a Ruger No.1 in 9.3x74R and this might be the final reason to push me over the edge...

I've done it for the purpose of scrubbing my bore. Didn't do any serious load development but there's a lot of potential for that cartridge.

They do. Reverend Recoil here on this forum has written about his #1and PP loads quite a bit. It seems to work really well for big hogs.

Alan,
I hope you post an update when you decide.
The 9.3 x 74r is a great cartridge with quite a pedigree. I commend Ruger for offering it in their superb no. 1.
If PP a .358 cast boolit gets you there, all the better!
You may just be talkin' me into following along!

Well the Ruger No.1 was acquired with dies and brass included at a price that I just could not pass up. Factory ammo was on sale so 40 rounds were purchased in case an opportunity to shoot came along before I have a chance to handload. All I have done so far is to admire the rifle and be thankful the opportunity to get it happened. Range test coming soon!

The cast .358s do work well for patching to .366 and it wouldn’t be difficult at all to cut the grease grooves out of an aluminum Lee mold to make a true slick.
I’m lucky enough to have a .358” swaging die for making jacketed round nose boolits that I’ve used for making paper patched projectiles for a couple 360s I have.
Works great in those and I plan on trying them in my 9.3x62 and 400/360 too.

Hoping that #358430 (200 grains) works well with FFg.

Late to the party, the 9.3X74R is a great ctg. A friend has one & it's a lot of fun, lots of history there.
