I had been seeking out another .32-20 recently and I took my time in locating one. I found a few nice Winchester 92's but I was able to get this Marlin 94 for about hald the price of the Winchesters I saw in the same condition. This rifle dates to about 1916-1917 and has a bore and rifling that is nearly flawless. This one should be fun to take to the range as soon as it's not buried in two feet of snow.

with 3 to 3.5 gr of 231 or RD they are fun to shoot and powder and lead lasts a long time.

Very nice , it has no lawyer switches on it and it has the "right look" about it .

David, you won't regret the Marlin over the Winny. I am fortunate to own both in 25-20 & 32-20. The Marlin has a tapered octagon barrel & is slim and trim compared to the 92. More graceful let's say. Watch your coal and try one round only to check for feeding. Don't ask me how I know. That closed action is a bugger to clear. After you shoot it let us know what you think. Enjoy.

Ive got a 1889 Marlin in 32-20 and its a good shooter. Also my Winny 92. Again, a good shooter. I use 3.5gr 231 or 3.5gr Unique under a 115gr boolit. Super mild and accurate in both. Enjoy that fine shooting iron.

I have no idea of the bore on that old of a Marlin as to diameter. I bought a 1894 Cl made in the 60's I believe and it shoots a 30cal as cast 120 grain Lee bullet very well. Tried another bullet but like this one. I also treat the bullet with Lee Liquid Alox. But my Classic has a 311 bore as slugged.

The worst ammo I tried in it was some Remington factory loads given to me. They were 100 grain lead bullets and patterned not grouped. Could not even sight them in. Mostly I have been shooting up some powders laying around that I have no use for otherwise. It is not fussy. But at its powder usage I am not really "shooting up" the powder at any rapid rate.
