Just thinking out of the box.
I was wondering if an NOE bullet sizer, could be used to neck size shells????
It's a bushing sizer.
They make short bushings that are used to size the nose.
Fits to the bottom of the holder.
Would need a tall opening press.
I asked about using the CH neck size bushing die to form case necks.
Could go slow with different size bushings.
I'm hoping I could do the same with the NOE sizer.

Yes, they’re made out of aluminum. I personally wouldn’t attempt it.

The ones I got are steel. Use a .301 or .302 to size paper patch cores and .309 or .310 to size wraped bullet. I turned off metal so my die will screw all but 1/4" up into my press. The nose dies have no taper and you may need to get creative with them. Very well pleased with the NOE system.

I was wrong. They are indeed steel. For some reason I was thinking of the top punches.

NOE has expanders for sizing the inside of the case neck, I find they help the boolit seat straighter and easier

I see no reason the sizing dies couldn't be used for sizing down case necks, I might give each neck a quick lick with some sandpaper to make sure there are no burs.
I am planning on sizing down some 9mm brass screwed to a piece of metal to hold the GC end of boolits while I sprayed them with PC. I should probably finish the 100+ other projects I've started first :groner:

The ones I have are steel, definetly steel. I accidentally hot oil blued one trying to melt a stuck boolit out of it.

I was thinking it could be used to size down the neck, in many gradual steps, when forming cases.
Less chance of wrinkles.

I have a number of sizing inserts from NOE, they are all steel, NOT aluminum...
