Just got the Midway clearance e-mail, looked at their clearance boolits.

Just last night I had a casting session for some new molds.

I cast 208 of the GB 45 283 Keith. Midway is selling a CLEARANCE price
45 cal 225 RFlat for "only" 16 cents each plus shipping.
So my 208 are worth about $33

I did 110 of the Lyman 311466 155 gr, nearest by weight was about 12
cents each, so that is $13. If you figure in the GC, that has to hit about
20 cents, so it'd be more like $22.

277 of the Ranchdog 311 165 .30 cal, the nearest clearance is the 162 gr
38 cal at 13.2 cents each, so that batch is worth about $37. With the GC they
have to cost at least 20 cents each, for more like $55.

I made about 100 of the Lee 150 gr .311 RN GC, and that would be sold at
about 13 cents plus a GC, so maybe 20 cents each. So those are worth $20
even on clearance prices.

The last batch was about 100 of the Lee 180 RN .311 GC, so this has to be
about 22 cents or so, adding another $22 for the evenings recreation.

Looks like I turned a couple of bucks of wwts into well over a hundred bucks worth
of boolits, of course I'll have to add the GC cost, but still a real bargain.

I LIKE IT !! :drinks:

By the way - the Ranchdog Lee 6 holer drops the boolits without so much
as a tap - just like dumping ball bearings from a spoon. Crack the mold, six
new boolits hit the towel. What a wonderful mold! Hat off to Ranchdog and
to Lee for making as perfect a mold as I have used.

But you said "Plus shipping." Midway has the highest shipping charges so you might as well double the value of your boolits! :drinks:

I am saving money! then why am I always broke? why do I always need a new mould? how about more brass? use to go to the range and shoot 20 rounds but now 200 rounds, I am saving money like my wife going to the furniture mart sale got 50% off so I saved $XXX, with this logic will be broke in a couple of years but I am saving money!
Get real you do not do this to save money, you do it for entertainment.

Don't say that too lound, let the newbies get hooked first....LOL

If I did not cast (and reload), I would not be shooting more that a few 100 rounds a year.

I sure wouldn't be shooting 500 rounds of 30 cal ammo if I wasn't casting
my own and loading them. Current retail price on .30-06 is about $25-30 per
box of 20, so about $125-150 per 100 rds. That 500 rds would cost me
$600 to 750, which I could not justify, so it wouldn't happen.

I get to have the fun of casting and lubrisizing, loading AND shooting all
that ammo, for maybe 10% of the cost.
