I went to my local scrap yard and he had some lead put back for me. It was in sheets about 1/16" thick and had been cut up into squares. It looks like it came off of a roof as flashing maybe and it's very soft and pliable. Would something like this be pure lead?

Yep, I would guess it might be from a medical office...shielding for radiation from x-ray equipment......pure lead or close enough to suit me. :coffee:

Yep. That's mostly what I have. Bought some "Plus Metal" intended for refreshing linotype to alloy with it when I need hard stuff.

ND ... some is and some isn't. I recently made 2 separate purchases of sheet lead from a scrap yard:
... Bhn 8.7 (1:30)
... Bhn 5.4 (Pure)
So, the only way to find the answer is test it for hardness.

Speaking about X-Ray stuff: I get a box every 6 months from my dentist that are the shields used when they X-Ray your teeth. The Bhn of these is 9.8 (1:20)
