What have you settled on for a COAL for 45ACP?

It’s been been awhile, but I’ve shot hundreds or thousands of these and they’re right around max OAL with a thumbnails width of the shoulder exposed (1.270”, if memory serves).
This is one of those bullets that sort of suggests it’s own OAL, since it has that pronounced shoulder right below the ogive. I’m not inclined to bury the shoulder, and you’re right near max OAL with it exposed.

It boils down to what works in your gun(s)

Found another post that said to see what your max COAL for a certain boolit is, to drop the boolit into the barrel (with barrel removed), and measure distance from top of boolit, to the top of the hood. Then add boolit length to this number for max COAL. I did that for my Les Baer PII and got 1.295", and for my Colt Defender I got 1.275".. I guess if I make them any longer than 1.270" I'll have to only use them in the LB..

Edit: looks like max mag length is about 1.275" for the LB....

Same here just seat to shoulder or just below and make sure it cycles.

I found that if I intend to shoot them in my flat top Blackhawk convertible, they have to be loaded very short. Shoulder buried.
