Hello and WELCOME !!!
Well there is more to this than a barrel change... The extractor distance from the firing pin.. magazine tube.. Does the receiver have sufficient diameter to receive a 12 guage barrel... and on it goes.
Why not just buy a 12 gauge ??

The 20 ga Mossy is worth more than the 12. Why would you want to do that?

Simple answer
NO

Different sized receivers

Seen a 12 converted to a 20
But the guy spent almost as much $ as a new gun would have cost and he put in a ton of hours doing it

And ended up with a *** that was next to worthless

more for curiosity sake then anything else. Was kinda hoping it was just a barrel change. One gun, two guages etc...

By reloading your ammo you can brew up "special" stuff,ie, I load and shoot 28 guage loads in my 12ga. 3/4 and 7/8 oz loads make for some fun, cheap and no recoil fun. Why shoot 1 1/8 o to to a job that 3/4 oz will do? Heavier guns lessen to aparent recoil and keep you swinging smoothly. Win Win deal.:coffee:

Trade/sell the 20 and go buy a 12...only practical manner

They also sell gauge reducers that allow you to shoot a 20 gauge shell in a 12 gauge barrel. Cabela's sells them and their called gauge mates. I think you can get a 20 to use a 28 or .410 shell also.
Try a 3" mag out of your 20 gauge and you will be supprised its got just as much power as a 12 gauge 2 3/4" high brass.

I recently had reason to look into gauge reducers myself. Ended up deciding to download the 12 to 20 or 28 gauge equivalent. Gauge reducers won't work in a pump or semi-auto, only a break open gun, single or double. Reports I read on the ones Cabella's sells are that they are very messy and the ejectors don't work, you have to remove the whole thing each time to replace the empty. I had that same experience with a set of Browning Little Skeeters a year or two ago. The Cabella reducers sell for $135 a pair, the Browning Skeeters about $90. If you don't reload or want to buy lighter 12 gauge loads, I say find a used 20 gauge somewhere, you'll be happier.
