Found a used one from a dealer in 45 Colt for just over $800. They say it is in like new condition. From what I've seen that is an excellent price. Any down side to the Ubertis that anyone knows of. Almost seems too cheap.

If it is in "excellent" condition, that is a very good price. Has it been used in "Cowboy shoots?" Does it have a "short stroke" kit, ie. has it been modified? Make sure you inspect all the visible parts carefully to include the bore, sights, side plate screws (none "buggered up"), top action "cover", and action function. (Most models had some pretty decent wood.) I would love to have another 1873, especially if I could get one for that price! While not designed for "high pressure" loads (except .44 Mag model), they are beautiful, well made rifles that are really fun to shoot. And, they especially shoot well with "cast boolits". Good luck!
