View Full Version : C.B. Wads - what are they

Here is another of the things passed on to me by a friend who inherited a box of reloading stuff from a guy who died about 45 years ago.

It's a box of Winchester C.B. Wads. shows as .38/55 in pen. When I open the box, I see a bunch of little cardboard (?) disks that do look to be about 38 caliber. There was also a tin that originally held percussion caps filled with a smaller size of these. I am presuming these were used in reloading? Maybe put between the powder and bullet? I'd be curious to learn what these are. Thanks

Power, wad, bullet in that order
Protected the base of the cast bullet from powder gasses
