does anyone know the length of the Lyman 358665 bullet from the crimp groove to the tip or the OAL when loaded...I'm looking for a bullet for cowboy shooting that I can use in my '66 and Marlin. The Marlin likes the long nosed bullets better and the '66 requires the boolit not have a shoulder like the semi-wadcutter type RNFP. Thanks

My loaded .357 Mag's with 358665 are 1.583 - 1.587 (40.1 - 40.2 mm), crimped in the top of the groove.

You're welcome. Please report how they shoot accuracy-wise. Bevel base boolit seem to be less acurate than flat-based.

So I'm thinking of asking a machinist friend to remove the bevel.

cowboy shooters aren't nearly as picky as the BR type. I haven't decided if I want to just live with what I'm now casting...it's the lee 90692 that is a 358-158-RF. I have it in a 6-cavity and love the production speed, and it works well in the '66 Winchester replica that is chambered in .38 spc, but the marlin doesn't like to feed it well when racking the lever fast as you do in competition. I'm hoping to find a boolit that will do well for both guns so i don't have to worry about grabing the wrong ammo.
