Has anyone seen a .375 revolver cartridge made up by shortening 30-30 or 38-55 brass?
It would be an answer looking for a problem but was something I contemplated for a .357 revolver upgrade back in the eighties and it never got beyond brainstorming.
Thought I'd ask...

I upgraded my .357/9mm Convertible Blackhawk by having John Taylor rechamber the 9mm cylinder to .40 S&W and the .357 cylinder to the 10x25mm Rimmed, which is made from Starline .44 Russian brass necked down to .40 cal. He has the tooling to do this and can make dies for it also. The 10x25 cartridge has about 8% more powder capacity than the 10mm Auto, so can make a powerful packing pistol if that is what you want.

The cartridge shown is a subsonic 250-grain "blooper" load for the rook rifle John also built to accompany the revolver, 1050 fps in a 22" barrel or 700 fps from a 5" revolver with 3.5 grains of Bullseye and is pleasant shooting.

The Dan Wesson 375 Supermag is just what you are looking for. We have had several and they will do everything a 38-55 can do with the old BP loadings. A 255-265 grainer can go chugging along from an 8 inch barrel at about 1350 fps.
First corn cruncher I shot with a revolver was with a 375 SM pushing the 375248 at 1200 fps. Did just what a 38-55 would have done. In and out and the young buck walked along a ways, laid down and became numerous suppers.
But if you want to get it in a Black Hawk or something similar it will work just fine. 375 SM brass can be made using 30-30. So a 375 Shorter case will be fine.

A fellow with the initials DAK wrote this up for a publication called Sixgunner (affiliated with J.D. Jones and Handgun Hunter's International) back in the 1980s. His version was the .375 DAK and if memory serves he rebored a M28 S&W barrel and chambers and used .30-30 brass shortened and probably reamed. Of course he needed a bullet mold or two. As I remember it all worked out fine and was something different.

.375 Super Mag was an efficient and accurate cartridge. I competed with one for years and it won me a number of State Championships. I was not aware that someone had shortened a 30/30 to make a case for a revolver.
