My trusted 'smith (1911 expert) always told me that only 9mm breech face can fit a 38Super. So I got my STI Spartan 9 rebarrelled in 38Super. When reloading 38Super however, I noticed that the brass wont fit in a 9mm shell holder due its larger rim. That got me thinking...
Recently bought a Sig 1911 nightmare in .357Sig, worked like a charm even with converted .40SW brass, Js or CBs.
When I saw a same ramped Sig barrel in 38Super online (super cheap), I jumped on it & got one at my door in no time. Replace the .357Sig barrel & fit like a glove. Rack it a few times then checked the extractor & ejector with no apparent sign of abnormal snag.
Shot about 60 rounds of reloaded 38Super without hiccups. Field stripped & found no sign of misfit.
Now I saw a 9mm Sig ramped barrel & wondering, will this work as well or go back to my 'smith?

I go back and forth between 7.62x25 and 357 sig in a 1911, 40 cal slide. Ran 9mm thru it by just dropping in a barrel.

I've got a Para Ordnance slide with a 40 cal/10mm breech face, and I've got barrels in 9mm, 38 super, and 10mm for it. Works well.
