I guess powder is sort of reloading equipment. I have a strange question. I see the price of an 8-pound keg of this stuff runs about $115. Now the strange part--would anyone have an idea as to what an 8-pound keg of this stuff would have cost about 10 years ago. I am just curious as to what the percentage increase in powders may have been. Thanks...BCB

swheeler,
Thanks for the reply. That is about the price I thought I paid back then. I was thinking right around 90 bucks...BCB

BCB, Back in the mid 60's, we used to be able to buy 4831 from Hogdens in Shawnee Mission, Ka, in paper bags for under a buck a pound. Think it was about $.50 a pound if you bought 25 lbs. and that came in one of those round cardboard drums. Talk about inflation!

As 1 Shirt said, in 1961 or 62 I bought 100 lbs. of the stuff in the round carboard drum. Cost me $50.

The last few 1 lb containers I have are dated 8-27-73 and were $1.49 each.

In the scare of Pres. Clinton's Brady bills a friend bought 32 lbs for about $350. I don't recall if shipping was included. I bought some from him 4 years later for 12.50 a lb and was happy with the deal. Gianni.
