Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new 8 mm mold. I currently have the Lee 324-175 dropping 180 grains and the Karabiner. The 324-175 is OK, but a tad too light. The Karabiner is just a beast, dropping 240 grain boolits. I'm using these out of a Gew 1888 and getting decent rounds, but I feel I should be using something in the 200 grain area. I gas check and powder coat all my boolits. I was looking at the following:
* Saeco iron .324 190 grain mold
* NOE Brass .325 220 gain mold
* NOE Aluminum .324 220
* NOE Aluminum .325 193 grain mold

Basically I am leaning on the Saeco iron because I got my first iron mold, the Lyman 314299 and I can't tell you how much I love the boolits that thing is dropping non stop. I have been using Lee Aluminum molds only before this with mixed results during my sessions. Any advice greatly appreciated here from the experts!

Any of those molds will be good quality molds. I have a lot of different molds made by different makers, currently only Lee in 8mm's. In the last year or two I have ordered several molds from NOE and Accurate Molds. I prefer their aluminum molds and would note that there is a huge difference between a Lee (still good molds for what you pay) and NOE or Accurate, they are quality that will last a lifetime if you take care of them. I have not tried a brass mold so can't comment on those.

Count me in with hpbear101 for Accurate and NOE.
I have only one brass mould. It does make pretty boolits but it’s a 4 cavity from NOE and it’s way to heavy for me to enjoy using. The Accurate and NOE aluminum moulds are all I buy anymore. I have gathered a flock of them. Not a bum one in the bunch. All hit size, cast round, cast very well and are a joy to use.

I have an Accurate 33-205 t gas check that I like best for my Yugo Mausers that I size to .325. Nothing wrong with NOE 326471fn, use those too. I also have the NOE spire point, 326423? I cast for 4 rifles and all are gc, and sized to .325. hc18flyer

I have the same mold hc18 mentioned except I don't remember the "t" suffix. It's become my "go to" mold for all the 8mm's I own. I have to size them a bit different but the bullet takes it all in stride and all my rifles love it so far.

I ended up getting the NOE 23-191-RF-BD2-60 which is a 4 cavity. I think this will do the trick for my GEW88's. Heard good things about it.
