Im all powdered up for cast bullets but have a rather generous supply of FMJs without a cannelure on them.

Im just curious as to which pistol powders have the best luck.

the powder manufacturers cater to jacketed bullets, their sites can answer your questions,

All of those powders can be made to work with cast bullets in many different calibers and ctgs.both pistol and rifle , jacketed bullets ? I'm you sure they can also work just never had the need to try .

Pistol powders and crimp don't have any direct relationship that I'm aware of. What caliber gun are you talking about? Rifle or handgun? Hardly any info here to even comment on anything.

Don't worry about the cannelure, I've loaded jacketed pistol and rifle bullets that didn't have that feature. If there's enough of a radius on the base you won't even need to flare the case. Taper crimp if you want to, neck tension has always been enough for me.
