I’ve heard plenty about our exposure to lead, and follow all of the usual precautions and have never had an issue. Is anyone worried about mold exposure? I looked in a box full of casting equipment in my closet and I definitely have a mold infestation.

I am concerned about mold, with the wife having allergies and asthma.

If you want I will analyze your mold problem for you: just send several samples to me and I will see if the application of 700 degree molten metal might not solve everything!

You know that they breed, right? Ya gotta keep them separated.

I just keep mine in their original boxes they came in, if I want more, guess they could be put in same drawer without there box.

I would only be concerned with black or green mold.

The only danger to mold exposure is to your wallet. You wallet will get a disease and get thinner and thinner the longer it is exposed to new molds.

Not concerned about mold. Stays very wet and damp were i live being low. Amy mold spray a little Clorox bleach and no more mold. It always comes back as there are springs in area and as i said property is low and almost always wet.

Ya mean there’s a chance that they’ll breed if I keep em together? How exciting! Anyone know what the incubation period is? And if I keep a 30 caliber with say a .224 do I get like a 6.5 Creedmoor? I might have ya start saven get a new gun!

Keeping them separated won't help much. I believe they can reproduce asexually. Although it seems to be much slower than when there are more of them. I had just one mold for several months, when another suddenly appeared. Once there were two, more molds started showing up every few weeks. It's getting out of control now. I've barely gotten to know the latest mold and there's already two more on their way. At one point they took over my die shelf and demanded I build them their own. I have room for one or two more shelves. But after that, I don't know what I'll do. I can't keep up. Can't keep them all happy. Sometimes they keep me up half the night or drag me out of bed at 0400 and make me play with them in the garage. They're backing me into the corner and have reinforcements enroute...

Wash your hands everytime after handling lead to reduce absorbing lead through your skin.

I have the same issue with mold. I think I have enough and then I see one that I don’t have.... but kinda like.
Thanks for the laugh.

Mine are in a box in the shed. It's too cold out there to reproduce......

Worst part is when they have twins or even triplets. Who would have ever thought that could happen.

its my understanding that theres even different kinds of moulds brass, iron, aluminum, some of these are even heat resistant. No doubt there will be some kind of remedial measures to deal with them. Its also my understanding that some moulds can and do lead to other moulds being added either by choice or direct transfer. Oh yeah, I get the humor alright. Some of these strains are quite virulent I had just one kind of mould here in the spring and now Ive got three kinds and its my belief there will be many more occurences in the foreseeable future.

Use latex gloves and a mask when you handle them. A good coat of oil will hold down problems. I would organize by size.

Mine is in my garage alcove, every time I go out there the mold problem grows.
