Someone want to send me some 1 pound bars for $5.00 each. Is that good? How many would a fella need for 500 lbs of pure lead to come up with 20-1?
TIA,
Duke

Let's see,20-1 means 5 lbs tin to 100 lead. Bars are 40% tin. You'll need 25 lbs of tin or 500 lbs pure lead. Bars are .4 lbs tin and .6 lead. Plus or minus 63 bars @ $5.00 each is $315.00. Ouch. Pure tin is how much?:coffee:

I get 97% tin, 2%silver, balance copper/antimony lead free solder for just about $7/lb delivered so this 40/60 doesn't seem like a very good deal. S/F......Ken M
