Never heard of it. Where'd you get it? My search engine can't find anything either.

Here is a picture of the label. Looks like a ball powder. Thanks if anyone can help me out!

Tad, did you buy this powder from a vendor/distributor or a private individual? If a vendor, who? I've never seen or heard of this powder.

just guessing but could the psa-o2 stand for pistol powder accurate 2. Lots of pr200 was sold and its aa2. Could be just an older lable.

I dunno, but I still have a bit of a rifle ball powder I bought years ago, I think from Jeff Bartlett. Could've been from Hi-Tech. It's called PSA. Sold as a "3031 equivalent," it was said to be Chinese made stuff intended to be sold by Accurate as 2230. The specs they gave the Chinese apparently didn't specify putting flash suppressant in it, and Accurate didn't want it. It makes the brightest muzzle flashes I've ever seen, but it's great shooting stuff. Wish I'd bought more. I remember it was $56 for 8 lbs then. Could this be another lot of that?

Thanks Ricochet, that sounds like it. I found an old thread by Bullshop that said it was great in the 45/70. Also, same story about the burning rate mistake.

My PSA is great stuff in the .45-70. But it does flash!

Ric, is it still available?

Oops, I see potential for a mishap here. Lloyd says AA#2 and Ricochet says 3031.

Better make absolutely sure what you got.

Got this from Jeff Bartlet years ago, down to 4 lbs and yes it works great in 45-70/ 30-30/ 35 Rem. You get the idea.

Start Low and work up.

I understand what sundog was saying also. I was a bit confused until now, but I am still a bit confused! I think actually 2 different names were used although the same Lot # is noted. Maybe a picture of the actual powder? Dang powder names can be confusing...BCB

I am pretty sure the PSA-02 is AA#2 speed. It is a WHOLE LOT safer and easier to test it in low power boolit load in a pistol to see if it is like #2 than to find out that it is comparable to #2 when you load to 3031 load data specs.

This is why I label Milsurp powders the minute they come out of the box!!!!

Contact Jeff Bartlett and see if this is some of his. If it isn't, I would try McDonald.

PSA powders must be Chinese as I have PSA-11 which is AA#5 speed, but Chinese.

Interesting. I didn't know there was a series of PSA powders. The stuff I got, long since unavailable, was just called "PSA" and is the stuff twotrees has. I've still got some, but I wish I had a lot more!
