In a Ruger Old Army would standard pressure loads be safe with a Krist converter? I am talking about classic .45 colt loads like 8.0-8.5 Unique with a Keith boolit or 6.0 to 6.5 of red dot. Not looking for anything hotter than category one .45 colt loads.

That is what the converters were designed for. The frame is up to higher pressures but do not go there.

Kirst is ONLY rated for standard saami pressure limits for 45 colt.

IF you wanted a stronger cartridge cylinder in that particular fire arm, you can try bowen custom or cylinder and slide.

For what Kirst charges these days, you are basically 150$ from a brand new black hawk.

Mine is in .45 ACP and I shoot all factory loads including +P with no issues.
